End of Summer

£5,000.00

This painting arrived in a sudden burst at lunchtime, driven by a compulsive need to create something new. It began with the same unconventional tool as some of my other works—an old passport used to spread and mix the paint into textured layers. As the colours settled, a shape emerged that reminded me of a butterfly’s wing, and from there I picked up a brush to clarify and solidify the final vision. The title, End of Summer, comes from that feeling of late summer warmth fading into cooler days, and from my memory of monarch butterflies as quiet markers that the season is about to turn.
